  Occult Hand's debut cassette 'Illustrious Pairing' is a collection of tense compositions and soundscapes from two Brightonites who like wearing robes and making eery noise. These recordings furtively drift in and out of focus, and yet have a calculation to them which is as subtle as a cough in a classroom. Listening to this tape was like having my ear pressed to the wall while a seance took place in an adjacent room. Listening to it was as if an occult hand was giving a sentient tesla coil a scratchy, pulsating nightmare. It is an atmospheric and brooding release which rewards repeated listening. Chewed up drones and obfuscated wails for the witching hour. Some believe that when you find unspooled audio tape wrapped around a lamp post that it is a witches spell recorded on tape and left there to do it's bidding. Do not unspool this tape and wrap it around a lamp post, it will do horrifying things to you.
